No.
It is a For Profit school with no admissions standards that no one respects.
Argosy University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and is a member of the North Central Association (NCA) (30 North LaSalle Street, Suite 2400, Chicago, IL 60602, 1.800.621.7440, http://www.ncahlc.org). This is the SAME accreditation as Missouri State Univ., Kansas State Univ., University of WV and many others. It is approved by the US Dept of Education.
Argosy Univ. also has accreditation from the APA for their Doctoral Clinical Psych programs.
Education is what you make of it and it is a personal choice as to where you attend. If you are looking at Argosy, by all means research them. I personally think their psych programs are great. I do not think I would attend for an MBA, but for a program that is APA approved, it cannot be that bad.
People get too caught up in business and not looking at the bigger picture. Going to Argosy may be a bit more expensive than a state university, but for those who can afford it, I say why not! Yes, they are for profit just like other colleges. If any school says they are not for profit, just look at the college football teams. When I was at a state university, I had to pay for tickets to the games. They were not free.
Even your state schools are offering online graduate degrees now. The times have changed from when people looked down on distance learning. If Nova Southeastern and University of Miami (both for profit schools who have put out some fine doctors) can offer distance learning, why not Argosy. By the way, UF, FSU, KSU, Cal Berkley and others offer distance ed.
Argosy has been around a long time, starting off at the Illinois School of Professional Psych. They then merged with a Minnesota Medical school and then took off from there.
The John Jay College of Criminal Justice is a for profit college but they have some of the best Criminal Justice programs around.
You need to research your program and be sure you can handle the online work. Sometimes it is much harder to take an online program than attend classes.
In a nutshell, nothing wrong with Argosy or online learning. Just do your research
